Location: Near Allen Parkway (Houston Area)
Compensation: DOE (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview A busy litigation team is seeking a Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary to provide support to two attorneys. This role offers strong growth potential, including the opportunity to learn directly from a paralegal who previously worked as a legal assistant. One of the attorneys manages a construction litigation docket, so experience in construction‑related matters is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Support two attorneys with day‑to‑day administrative and litigation tasks
Prepare, revise, and format legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence
Coordinate court filings (electronic and in‑person) and track deadlines
Maintain organized case files, calendars, and docketing information
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Assist with billing, time entry, and general administrative duties
Collaborate with the team paralegal and participate in workflows that offer ongoing learning
Qualifications
Prior experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary (litigation preferred)
Construction litigation experience is a plus
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
High attention to detail and a proactive, team‑oriented approach
