JR0003046**Job Description:**The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Fairfield University’s Meditz College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Italian in any field beginning fall 2026 pending final budget approval. Applicants must have completed a PhD in Italian Studies or a related field by the time of their appointment.We welcome applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and innovative research. We are particularly interested in those with experience developing new technologies and methodologies for the language classroom. The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per semester and will be a dynamic teacher of all levels of Italian language as well as of upper-level content courses. The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures consists of 15 full-time faculty members representing a range of specialties. It currently offers 9 languages and majors and minors in French, German, Italian and Spanish. Salary and benefits for the position are highly competitive.
