Our established dog training business in Southern New Jersey, Pampered Pet Sitting and Dog Training, is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Dog Trainer to join our team and work directly alongside SUE BATTEL, one of the area's most respected positive dog behavior specialists. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with and learn from Sue Battel, applying her proven and effective training methodology. The ideal candidate is passionate about canine behavior, professional in demeanor and committed to compassionate, humane based training practices. We are a well-established, professional pet care and dog training business seeking dedicated and mature individuals who love dogs to join our team. About Pampered Pet Sitting: Founded in 2009, we are a professional, fully insured and bonded professional pet care and dog training business serving many towns surrounding Cherry Hill, NJ. We have a team of 29 amazing and kind employees who work as a true team, helping when they can knowing their team members will step up to help when one of them cannot. We are very flexible with scheduled and planned time off and work with a Family First philosophy, so that our team can be where they need to be for their family, and work when they can around their other commitments in life. Our clients know they can rely on our loving and safe care for their pets as well as offering the best in dog training, as we’ve built that reputation over the past 17 years. We added Dog Training as a service a year ago with our trainer, Sue Battel. We recently opened a new Dog Training facility on Route 73 in Mt Laurel, NJ for private one‑on‑one dog training. We are looking to add to our dog training team with trainer/s who are like‑minded with Sue Battel’s positive training techniques to enhance her program and to both train one on one at our location and to train our clients at their homes. We are also considering adding Agility Training to our program in 2026.

Requirements

Certified dog trainer (CPDT‑KA, KPA, IAABC or equivalent)

Minimum of 3 years hands‑on experience in behavioral or obedience training with references

Reliable transportation and flexible schedule

Passion for working with dogs

Strong communication, client interaction skills and time management skills

Commitment to following and implementing Sue Battels Training Methodology

Dog Trainer Responsibilities

Work a flexible schedule as needed based on client needs and your availability

Must have a smart phone to be able to utilize our scheduling software

Training at our new Dog Training facility in Mt Laurel NJ one‑on‑one and going to our client’s homes for dog training

Conduct private sessions for dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments

Develop customized training plans based on each dog’s behavior, temperament and owners goals.

Teach and reinforce obedience commands (sit, stay, come, heel etc) and address behavior issues such as jumping, leash pulling, barking or anxiety.

Communicate training progress and recommendations clearly and professionally to clients

Educate pet owners on positive reinforcement techniques and proper handling methods.

Assess dogs behavior and recommend appropriate training practices

Maintain accurate training notes, client progress reports and follow up schedules

Collaborate with management and pet care staff to ensure consistency and safety in handling dogs, if training client is also a pet care client.

Stay current on modern, positive training methods

Ensure all training sessions are conducted safely and in compliance with company policies.

Must be extremely detail oriented.

Able to follow detailed instructions.
