School Psychologists are expected to: Work with a diverse population of students. Provide students with a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning. Provide targeted interventions to teach social, emotional, behavioral regulation. Provide group and/or individual counseling using evidence‑based interventions. Conduct initial evaluations, re‑evaluations, and Functional Behavior Assessments. Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and crisis management plans. Collaborate and consult with community‑based providers, parents, component districts, colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs. Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders. Record and report student progress. NYS School Psychologist Certification Candidates should possess a broad skill set to engage learners of all levels including, but not limited to: Knowledge of skills related to trauma, illness, grief, crisis intervention, identifying level of functioning for students. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments. Job responsibility may require individual to do one and two person lifts and/or physical interventions on a daily basis with students weighing 50‑200 pounds. Position requires the successful completion of all elements of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training. W‑FL BOCES provides Initial and refresher TCI Trainings
