Washington, D.C., offers unparalleled opportunities for our experts, researchers and students to learn and listen, connect and share views on the national stage.**About the Opportunity**The **Assistant Director of Academic Programs** supports the enrollment, operations, planning, delivery, and compliance of all undergraduate academic and co-curricular initiatives at the University of Southern California (USC) Capital Campus in Washington, D.C. The Assistant Director helps ensure the planning and smooth daily operation of USC in D.C. programs such as “USC in D.C. First Semester” and “USC in D.C. Spring Semester”, and “USC in D.C. Summer programs”, advancing USC’s mission of experiential learning by coordinating enrollment, student experiences, and operational processes at the USC Capital Campus in Dupont Circle.This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills to bridge academic administration, student engagement, and collaboration.**Key Responsibilities****Program Operations and Administration*** Coordinate daily academic operations for Capital Campus academic programs, including scheduling, classroom management, site visits, and faculty support.* Assist in the implementation of program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with USC academic and administrative standards.* Maintain program calendars, deadlines, and reporting timelines; prepare communications and documents for internal and external stakeholders in D.C. and L.A.* Serve as a key contact for faculty and academic staff regarding orientation, pre-arrival details, teaching logistics, materials, and classroom support in D.C.* Support enrollment data, evaluations, and assessment outcomes for institutional reporting.**Student Support and Engagement*** Provide individualized support to USC in D.C. students on academic procedures, course logistics, and experiential learning expectations.* Collaborate with team to deliver pre-departure and on-site orientation sessions, advising workshops, and community-building activities.* Serve as a secondary on-site contact for student emergencies, health or conduct issues, and academic concerns, in coordination with USC departments in Los Angeles.* Facilitate the integration of academic and experiential components to ensure a cohesive student experience in D.C., commonly linked to degrees at USC**Partnerships and Experiential Learning*** Assist with experiential learning coordination, including tracking schedules, communicating with sites, and maintaining contacts.* Help manage site visits, networking events, and cultural programming that link academic content with professional learning.* Support outreach to D.C.-based organizations, Trojan alumni, and agencies to sustain and expand program partnerships.**Enrollment, Admissions, Communications and Marketing*** Develop and maintain materials for newsletters, websites, social media, and presentations to promote USC Capital Campus academic programs.* Support recruitment, enrollment, alumni engagement, and public events representing the academic mission of the Capital Campus.**Assessment & Planning*** Gather data on student outcomes, academic satisfaction, and program impact; assist with reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.* Participate in the planning and implementation of new academic initiatives and summer or short-term programs.**Supervision and Reporting*** Reports to: Director of Academic Programs, USC Capital Campus* Supervises: Student workers or temporary staff as assigned**Preferred Qualifications*** Master’s degree in higher education or related field.* At least 5 years of experience in higher education academic program coordination, student services, or experiential education.* Experience advising and supporting off-campus or study away programs.* Experience in web site development and social media.* Familiarity with USC systems (SIS, Workday, Slate, Advise USC, Brightspace) preferred.* Exceptional organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.**Salary Range:**The annual base salary range for this position is $75,089.46–$90,000.00 When determining an offer, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate’s experience, education, training, key skills, internal peer alignment**,** applicable laws, contractual requirements, grant funding, and market conditions.#LI-MN1Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
