Overview Join AutoNation’s Subaru Carlsbad team as a Certified/ Mainline Automotive Technician. You will perform vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards, building customer loyalty through trusted service and ensuring the safety and reliability of every vehicle.

Compensation This position offers a flat‑rate hourly compensation of $31.00 to $50.00 per hour, which combines hourly pay and bonus earnings.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle repair or maintenance as outlined on the repair order, meeting dealership and factory standards.

Communicate regularly with the Parts Department and Service Advisors for efficient production and customer updates.

Diagnose faults and authorize repairs in alignment with customer approval.

Conduct multi‑point inspections, recommending services to ensure safety and reliability.

Document all work performed on each vehicle in the repair order.

Maintain an inventory of tools not inventoried by the Service department (“special tools”).

Stay current with factory technical bulletins and attend factory‑sponsored training as needed.

Provide an exceptional customer experience to foster loyalty.

Success Metrics

Targeted production and sales targets.

Achieve the targeted Customer Satisfaction Index.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

3+ years experience as an automotive technician.

Automotive technical training (varies by store need).

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Valid in‑state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
