Responsibilities Your Role:
Patient Engagement Specialist (Admissions Coordinator) As the first point of contact for individuals seeking treatment, you will be the lifeline that connects them to the care they deserve. You will provide empathy, urgency, and expert guidance, ensuring every patient feels supported and empowered to begin their journey toward recovery. You'll work out of our Burtonsville, MD office with the option to have two work from home days a week.
What You’ll Do
Be the first connection – Handle intake inquiries with compassion, ensuring seamless coordination for clinical, medical, and financial arrangements.
Guide patients with care – Act as the bridge between referral sources, patients, and our clinical/medical teams.
Navigate insurance and benefits – Assist patients in understanding their coverage, verifying benefits, and maximizing their access to care.
Motivate and engage – Follow up with patients post-intake to enhance motivation and encourage commitment to treatment.
Set and achieve goals – Make measurable progress in engagement and productivity. Stay organized and efficient – Document important patient information in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Adapt and solve problems – Work in a fast-paced setting where critical thinking and problem-solving are key.
Qualifications What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong clerical and organizational skills – You keep things running smoothly.
Salesforce knowledge – Experience with this platform is a huge plus.
Insurance expertise – You understand benefits and can confidently communicate coverage details.
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Mental Health (MH) experience – You are knowledgeable and passionate about behavioral health.
Motivational interviewing skills – You know how to inspire patients toward recovery.
Excellent communication skills – You are comfortable engaging with patients, families, and referral sources.
A background in SUD/MH treatment – Field experience is a plus.
Bonus points for: Formal education in SUD/MH, sales training, and motivational interviewing training.
