Senior Inspector (SCDOT Foundations Technician)
NOVA Engineering is seeking a
Senior Construction Inspector (SCDOT)
in our
Charleston, SC
office. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing pile driving inspections for bridge and roadway projects in accordance with SCDOT standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
Conduct pile driving inspections on bridge and roadway construction projects to ensure compliance with SCDOT standards.
Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
Monitor contractor activities and verify that construction methods and materials meet project requirements.
Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for project stakeholders.
Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and other inspectors to resolve issues and maintain project timelines.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during construction activities.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors as needed.
Qualifications
SCDOT Foundation Technician certification is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on pile driving and bridge/roadway projects.
Strong knowledge of SCDOT construction standards and procedures.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
