R37636Under the direction of the Chief END Technician, the Neurodiagnostic Assistant is a support position in the Neurophysiology department, with duties designed to be flexible to meet the specific needs of the Neurophysiology department. This position requires the candidate to monitor EMU and continuous EEG patients, document patient activities throughout the study, initial EEG studies every 2 hours, maintain camera placement, communicate patient activities to EEG Technicians, Neurology Residents, Neurology Attending physicians and nurses, and identify seizures. This position will also be assigned administrative duties in support of the Neurophysiology Lab.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: BLS (CPR) certification

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: BLS (CPR) Certification

Experience REQUIRED:

Minimum one year health care experience

No work experience if individual is a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program

Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft and email, etc.

Experience PREFERRED: Experience in academic health care setting

Education/training REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED: MA, CMA, CCMA preferred

Independent action(s) required:

Monitor EMU and continuous EEG studies, document patient activities, initial EEG study every 2 hours, communicate patient events to the Neurology staff, identify seizures.

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

Additional position requirements:

Weekends, weekdays, holidays, evenings, overnight shift, 11 pm – 7 am.
