It's your career, Shelter it!**Additional Job Description**Financial Reporting Accountant****$69,264- $88,645 minimum starting pay****Job Level: Individual Contributor**Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.
Please remember that this is the minimum starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.**What You Will Be Doing:**Responsible for the delivery of accurate financial data to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders for assigned Shelter Insurance Company(s). Ensure that reports, filings and documentation comply with company's regulations, professional standards, and Statutory and/or GAAP reporting guidelines. Expected to maintain a working knowledge of Statutory Codification Principles and Practices and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.**What We're Looking For:*** Demonstrated analytical abilities, excellent math, organizational and statistical skills.
Written and oral communication skills.* Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize to meet frequent deadlines.* Ability to use a personal computer with speed and accuracy in association with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet, the Workday Financial Management accounting system, and other company systems.* Ability to work additional hours to meet required deadlines during seasonal periods.* Ability to maintain schedules and work well with others.* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a desire to pursue one of the following designations within the first year of employment: CPA, CLU, CPCU, AIAF, FLMI, CMA.* Typically requires minimum of two years’ experience in the accounting field.* Requires a working knowledge of GAAP.* Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.Shelter's uncompromising commitment to excellence doesn't stop with our customers.
