CNC Operator (Manufacturing)
Daily Responsibilities
Set up, program and run two multi‑axis CNCs simultaneously at a high rate of efficiency, accuracy and safety.
Use an overhead crane to load and unload slabs of granite and quartz on and off CNC machines.
Appropriately supervise and operate CNC controls to ensure cuts and routes meet specifications.
Monitor and make necessary adjustments to machines to continuously produce better results.
Keep the work area clean and orderly.
Perform maintenance on equipment.
Notify the Shop Foreman of any material defects or discrepancies.
Keep projects on track with constant monitoring and updating of project data.
Assist with various other duties as needed.
Experience
CNC Operator with 1–2 years of experience in the stone industry or possess a strong desire to learn.
CNC set‑up, programming, operation and maintenance.
Experience with other automated stone fabrication machinery/saws.
Knowledge of AutoCAD.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Understand technical information on drawings/plans in English.
Time management and ability to multi‑task.
Ability to follow instructions, read paperwork and communicate with others to complete tasks.
Aptitude for problem‑solving while working in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
Possess computer skills and ability to learn our job‑tracking software program.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Be safety conscious.
Have a positive attitude, possess a strong work ethic, and desire to work with and help others achieve our production goals.
Possess the desire to learn a new skill.
Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to airborne particles and moderate to high noise levels while in the shop. Safety equipment is provided for employees that will be in these areas. In addition, the employee will be standing for long periods of time and must be able to handle hot and cold temperature changes.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally need to lift or move objects that weigh 70 pounds or more. Must be able to properly bend, reach and lift without reasonable accommodations.
