Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and reliable Maintenance Mechanic I to join our maintenance team. This is an entry‑level position ideal for individuals starting their career in industrial or facility maintenance. Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic I assists with routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment, systems, and the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsiblities
Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks on equipment and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.).
Help troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
Support the preventive maintenance schedule, including lubrication, filter changes, and visual inspections.
Respond to maintenance work orders and document completed tasks.
Assist with facility upkeep including minor carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about equipment issues or parts needed.
What your background should look like
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic mechanical aptitude or relevant coursework (e.g., trade school, technical training) preferred.
0‑2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field (internship or vocational experience counts).
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical ability to stand, lift, climb ladders, and work in various conditions (hot, cold, noisy).
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Basic understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Experience in an industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a variety of environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor areas.
