The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining valves, electric actuators, and pneumatic actuators for municipal customers. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, proficiency with Microsoft applications for equipment programming software, reporting, documentation, and strict adherence to company and industry safety protocols. The technician must be willing to work out of town approximately 50% of the time depending on project needs and scheduling, and work onsite in Addison, TX.
Valve & Actuator Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on butterfly valves, plug valves, gate valves, knife gate valves, and other valve types
Service, troubleshoot, and calibrate electric actuators (AUMA, Limque, Rotork) and pneumatic actuators
Conduct field inspections, operational testing, and start‑ups for new installations
Replace or repair internal valve components, seals, gears, limit switches, wiring, and mechanical linkages
Perform torque verification, calibration, and positioner setup on relevant equipment
Technical & Administrative Responsibilities
Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other digital tools
Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, valve drawings, and technical manuals
Maintain accurate logs of parts used, time spent, and job status updates
Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and supervisors to provide updates and technical explanations
Safety & Compliance Responsibilities
Follow all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space guidelines, and jobsite safety rules
Use proper PPE and ensure safe operation of tools, hoisting equipment, and test instruments
Participate in safety meetings, training, and job hazard analyses
Background / Experience
2+ years of experience working with valves or actuators (electric and/or pneumatic) preferred
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, low‑voltage electrical circuits, and industrial equipment troubleshooting
Ability to use multimeters, torque tools, hand tools, and calibration equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Valid driver’s license
Comfortable traveling to job sites
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
Comfortable working in industrial environments, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and variable weather conditions
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods
