**Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursery**

**A Brief Overview**

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursery is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on AWOHNN and NRP standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered. The Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursery is also responsible for recovery process post-delivery.

**What you will do*** Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.* Performs appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by provider in an accurate and timely manner.* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family.* Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.* Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.* Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.* Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.* Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change.

**Education Qualifications*** Associate's Degree Nursing. (ADN) Required* Bachelor's Degree Nursing. (BSN) Preferred* Master's Degree Nursing. (MSN) Preferred

**Experience Qualifications*** Previous experience in an acute care setting Required

**Skills and Abilities*** Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.* Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.* Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.* Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.

**Licenses and Certifications*** Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required* Neonatal Resuscitation Program - American Academy of Pediatrics . If not certified, must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of employment. Required* Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred* Completion of S.T.A.B.L.E. training Preferred
