Title Job Overview Responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and repairing production tooling and fixtures in a rotational molding operation. This position is suited for individuals who are skilled at taking raw or semi‑finished materials and transforming them into finished products or components through various processes like cutting, bending, welding, and assembling. The ability to solve problems, communicate clearly, and collaborate in a team environment are necessary to be successful in this position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fabricate mold out of various materials according to engineering drawings to meet customer specifications.
Modify and repair existing tooling and fixtures as required.
Weld both MIG and TIG (steel and aluminum).
Use various machinery and equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, press brakes, shears, iron workers, and band saws.
Sandblast tools and fixtures as necessary.
Conduct thorough inspections and measurements to verify mold accuracy.
Troubleshoot and resolve mold related issues via root cause analysis.
Train other team members in the use of new mold or trim fixtures.
Hand trim samples or prototype parts as needed.
Complete paperwork as requested by supervisor.
Follow all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety procedures such as using the correct and required personal protective equipment.
Meet daily work as assigned by supervisor or delegate.
Escalate problems and challenges promptly to supervisor and ask for help to ensure work is kept on track.
Maintain a well‑organized and clean work area to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
Collaborate with other teams including engineering and production to improve processes, products, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Able to weld aluminum and steel, must be able to pass a weld test
At least 1 year of Fabrication Experience
Machining experience preferred
Able to operate and set up press brake, lathe, shear, band saws, and a variety of basic metal and wood working hand tools.
Able to communicate effectively in English (speak, read and write)
Basic math skills (addition and subtraction of decimal numbers) and knowledge of the Metric System
Ability to work in a team environment
Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance, as required to achieve customer satisfaction.
Able to read and write basic English for daily paperwork as well as some basic math skills.
Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings, and blueprints, preferred
Able to stay organized and productive
Able to be forklift certified
Working Conditions
Must be able to work in a hot humid environment for extended periods of time.
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand a majority of the shift.
Require pushing, pulling, sitting, climbing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, walking, gripping and bending.
Must be able to bend, stretch, lift, and pull molds that weigh 45+ lbs.
Good vision required with or without corrective device (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception).
Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes or boot, earplugs, etc.
