Registered Nurse Coor Transplant- Ventricular Assistive Device This is an outpatient clinic position that assists in the management of a complex patient population with LVADs. Responsibilities include patient follow‑up/assessment in the clinic, interrogating devices, following up on labs and test results, coordinating rehab visits, managing medication refills and prior authorizations, handling phone calls and troubleshooting the LVAD device. The role also requires on‑call coverage for patients at home who call with emergent or urgent concerns, and periodic participation in the LVAD patient support group.

We are ideally looking for an RN with a cardiology background who works collaboratively with a highly specialized team. This is a great opportunity to establish long‑term professional relationships. Work schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends and holidays on occasion, with some on‑call duties.

General Summary

Transplant Coordinators coordinate all aspects of care for both transplant recipients and donors.

A coordinator participates in medical, administrative, research and teaching duties.

The coordinator is an active member of the multi‑disciplinary transplant team.

Education / Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patient‑care personnel and relate to patients and families.

Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Analytical ability and motivation necessary to effectively plan, deliver and implement plans of care in acute and outpatient situations.

For those working as a Coordinator of Heart Transplant/with VADS: experience in ICU or OR preferred.

Certifications / Licenses Required

Current RN license in the State of Michigan.
