Essential Job Duties
Pipefitting:
Responsibilities:
Pipefitters are responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems for various applications, including heating, cooling, water, gas, and other fluids.
Tasks:
This includes reading blueprints, measuring and cutting pipes, threading, bending, and joining pipes and fittings, and ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
Materials:
They work with various materials like steel, copper, plastic, and other alloys.
Settings:
Pipefitters work in various settings, including residential, commercial, industrial, and construction sites.
Collaboration:
They often collaborate with other tradespeople, such as plumbers, welders, and construction teams.
Welding:
Responsibilities:
Welder pipe fitters use welding equipment to join pipes and fittings, ensuring strong and leak-proof connections.
Tasks:
This includes welding, brazing, or soldering pipes and fittings according to specifications.
Skills:
They need to be proficient in various welding techniques and able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Plumbing:
Responsibilities:
Pipefitters often work on Plumbing systems
Tasks:
They may also work on plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage systems.
Knowledge:
They need a good understanding of plumbing systems, as well as safety regulations.
Other Duties
Testing piping systems for leaks and ensuring proper functionality
Performing routine inspections and maintenance
Troubleshooting and repairing leaks and malfunctions
Performs other duties as requested

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate ideas related to policies and procedures and provide guidance to management and employees, verbally and in writing

Ability to multi-task
Regular and reliable attendance
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Possess a valid driver’s license
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Often requires an apprenticeship or trade school education
May require a license
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
Any welding / pipe fitter certifications
Physical Demands
Ability to operate tablet, mobile phone and other field equipment as needed
Ability to read, write, speak, hear, see, think, communicate, concentrate, learn, and work
Ability to lift/carry up to 100lbs repeatedly during work hours
Ability to climb up and down ladders and/or step stools repeatedly during work hours
Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time during work hours
Ability to work in small and confined dark spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, etc.
Ability to work in a wide range of temperatures (indoor/outdoor)
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time between job sites and customer locations
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
