Medical Laboratory Technician & Medical Laboratory Scientist
Join Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). The role performs routine and complex testing across multiple laboratory sections.
Position Summary Full‑time, variable shift opportunities. Sign‑on bonus of $5,000 for eligible external hires. Salary ranges shown below by title.
Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex tests in assigned sections (Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Molecular, Immunohematology).
Plan, execute, and evaluate laboratory analyses.
Maintain laboratory quality, safety, and compliance.
Communicate test results and collaborate with physicians and other clinical personnel.
Support Clinical Laboratory Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Lean initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Medical Laboratory Technician
Associate’s Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
National MLT certification by AAPC, AMT, or ABAA upon hire.
1 year of moderate/high‑complexity testing experience in a clinical laboratory.
Medical Laboratory Scientist
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related scientific field with clinical rotation.
National MLT or MLS certification by AAPC, AMT, or ABAA upon hire.
1 year of moderate/high‑complexity testing experience in a clinical laboratory.
Salary Ranges
Medical Laboratory Technician – $28,410 to $43,470
Medical Laboratory Scientist – $35,660 to $55,370
