Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center

Full‑time set schedule: 7 pm – 7 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sign‑on bonus: $2,500.

Overview Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents aged 11‑17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at the Center offer comprehensive treatment, fostering healthy behaviors and preparing children to transition back home.

Responsibilities

Deliver quality nursing care to all patients.

Adjust staffing as necessary for day, evening, night and weekend shifts.

Oversee unit activities including admissions, discharges, crisis intervention, restraint and/or seclusion, Baker Acts, and relief for breaks or meals.

Manage RNs, Lead Mental Health Techs, and Mental Health Techs on the unit; administer prescribed medications.

Coordinate all medical codes—real or mock—and ensure they are carried out safely.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.

Licensure:

Florida Board of Registered Nursing.

Experience:

3 years as RN; clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to manage patients with crisis prevention interventions; push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds; intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.

Additional Requirements

Read, understand and follow policies, procedures and treatment plans.

Pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre‑employment Drug Test.

Interact positively with patients whose behavior may be challenging, uncooperative or aggressive.

Work successfully under highly stressful conditions.

Collaborate appropriately with multidisciplinary team members.

Effective reading, written and verbal communication skills.

Current CPR or BLS certification; completion of orientation requirements.

Successful completion of Handle with Care within 7 days of orientation.
