About the Role
The
EV Charging Sales Engineer
is responsible for quoting, selling, and managing small to mid‑sized EV charging projects while supporting customer‑facing sales activities for Turtle's EV Charging department. This role blends technical project execution, consultative sales, and inside sales support, serving as a critical bridge between customers, vendors, and internal teams. The Sales Engineer will work directly with electrical contractors, end users, and internal sales teams to develop EV charging solutions, prepare proposals, manage project execution from bid through closeout, and ensure profitability, customer satisfaction, and technical accuracy.
What You’ll Do
Quote, sell, and manage small to mid‑sized EV charging projects Support inside and outside sales teams with technical expertise and proposal development Communicate EV charging system solutions clearly to customers, contractors, and internal teams Prepare accurate sales proposals that meet customer requirements and Turtle margin expectations Participate in customer presentations, calls, and limited site visits as required Use consultative selling techniques to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate EV charging solutions Stay informed on EV charging technologies, codes, standards, and incentive programs
Project & Technical Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and electrical drawings Utilize electronic bid and take‑off software to prepare accurate quotes Manage projects from bid stage through order placement, delivery, and closeout Maintain project schedules, manage deadlines, and communicate status updates Track pricing, change orders, and project documentation Coordinate with vendors, operations, and logistics to ensure timely execution Increase project profitability through efficient take‑offs, sourcing, and scope management
Process, Organization & Accountability
Maintain detailed records of quotes, correspondence, and project changes Follow established standards for reporting, documentation, and communication Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent industry experience) Experience working with electrical contractors, power distribution, or EV charging systems Strong understanding of EV charging equipment, power infrastructure, and applications (or ability to learn quickly) Proven experience in technical or consultative sales Strong organizational and time‑management skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of quotes and projects Strong customer service mindset with professional phone and presentation demeanor Comfortable working across sales, operations, and vendor partners
