Job Description
This armed position is under the direct supervision of the Manager for assigned high‑profile sites and performs a variety of security‑related duties. In this role you will observe and report activities and incidents at assigned locations, providing for the security and safety of client property, visitors, and personnel.
As an armed officer you may respond to unusual or emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol. You will also assist in preserving order, enforcing regulations and directives related to personnel, visitors, and premises, controlling access to the client site through the admittance process, and monitoring entrances and exits to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
Assignments may involve patrolling the site on foot or in vehicle; checking for unsafe conditions such as hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations; protecting evidence or scenes of incidents in case of accidents, emergencies, or investigations; and preparing logs or reports as requested. These duties may expose you to stressful situations.

Duties Include
Control access to client site or facility through the admittance process; prevent unauthorized access and the conversion, theft or intentional destruction of physical assets; assist visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry.
Respond to unusual or emergency situations using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response following established protocol for the site and as dictated by the situation, by the company, and through required training and licensing; maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons as required.
Provide an atmosphere in which all client employees and visitors know that the client responds to and cares about their needs; offer courteous, respectful, and pleasant interactions that present a good image of the client and its security department.
Communicate in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations; provide information, to the extent authorized, regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.
Monitor entrances and exits; act to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; control movements of people and vehicles and parking; operate a gate and examine vehicle contents; monitor remote entrances using closed circuit television; operate remote access devices; calmly direct persons who cause a disturbance to leave the property.
Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons; inspect buildings and grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; set up barriers and signage, and provide direction or information to others.
Prepare logs or reports as required for the site; write or type reports or enter information in a computer using standard grammar; inspect security control logs and take action as required.
Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.
Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site, by the company, and/or through training or certification.
Carry out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.
Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications
U.S. citizenship preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Education | Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum of two (2) years of Armed Security / Law Enforcement experience OR two (2) years of honorable service with the U.S. Armed Forces.
Background Prerequisites Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, may need to meet physical examination requirements per assignment and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.
Competencies
Meeting and maintaining any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for armed security work and specific protective device and weapons qualifications.
Meeting certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly to communicate with employees and clients; write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

Compensation Starting wage range for this position is $17.75 per hour (starting trainee wage) in all states except California, where it is $26.00 per hour. Post‑assignment wage ranges vary by state and location. In addition to the hourly wage, positions may receive health and welfare benefits of $4.23 – $6.25 per hour as applicable.
Additional compensation of $1.00 – $4.00 may be available at sites requiring Secret or Top‑Secret clearance.
Some site assignments may include a shift differential of an additional $0.25 – $1.50 per hour.
