Description The Schwartz Early Childhood School at the SJCC is a school of excellence where children feel secure, confident, and nurtured to become deep and creative thinkers. Our program is inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, and grounded in a social constructivist approach to learning.

The Schwartz Early Childhood School at the SJCC on Mercer Island is seeking a passionate and experienced early childhood educator with a strong foundation in child development and a deep commitment to fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning in young children. The ideal candidate is skilled in integrating Hebrew language and Jewish values into play‑based, developmentally appropriate curricula and creates warm, inclusive classroom communities where children feel seen, supported, and inspired to explore their world.

We are a collaborative and reflective community of educators who come together in the best interest of children. The Schwartz Early Childhood School provides exceptional support to educators through mentorship, weekly planning time, monthly reflective supervision, new hire orientation, ongoing professional development, and access to abundant, high‑quality materials.

Requirements To be successful as a Hebrew Speaking Early Childhood Teacher, you should have:

Strong emotional responsiveness toward children and co‑workers

A flexible mindset

A desire and openness to follow a Reggio Emilia inspired approach

The ability to incorporate the Hebrew language throughout each day in organic ways

Strong written and verbal communication skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A customer‑centric and collaborative attitude with a high level of empathy

The ability to sequence objectives among competing priorities

The ability to multi‑task

A creative and strategic mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities

Washington State Pay Range: $24/hour to $28/hour

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including but not limited to, skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
