Job Summary
The cook position is responsible for cooking and mixing filling for production lines and ensuring the quality of the product. Responsible for overall set up and sanitation of industrial equipment/kettles, while maintaining and following safety and food safety regulations. Essential Job Functions
Set up and operate industrial kettle and equipment in a safe and proper manner. Prepare large batches of pie fillings by following the recipe and using industrial kettles. Responsible for reviewing formulas and follow batch sheet recipes Responsible for receiving, counting, verifying and recording lot number and quantities. Use a forklift or pallet jack to pull ingredients needed to make the filling. Perform the sanitation duties for the assigned equipment in the cook room. Trains, and directs the work of the cooks' helpers Responsible for checking the filling temperatures throughout the cooking and cooling down process. Works closely with the QA personnel, warehouse personnel, supervisors and manager. Completes the required production paperwork and systematically reporting all material used. Immediately reports equipment needing repair to reduce and prevent injuries and downtime. Responsible for monitoring Safety and GMP’s of staff Food Safety Responsibilities
All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor Monitors and enforces cGMPs Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs Education, Skills & other Requirements
Forklift Certified: Sit-down Ability to understand written and verbal direction in English and/or Spanish. Proven experience working with industrial cooking equipment, specifically kettles Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be able to work in a loud environment with appropriate hearing protection. Physical Requirements
Stand/walk for 8+ hours. Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 Lbs. Frequently push/pull up to 50 Lbs. Ability to walk through production areas Adaptability to multi-shift environment. Exposure to temperature change Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. Hearing ability with appropriate protection in high-noise areas.
