SUMMARY This position will be responsible for all functions of inventory handling and will process customer orders received either in person, via telephone, fax or internet. This position will assist the Branch Manager / Branch Operations Manager, and other branch associates as needed. Responsibilities will also include maintenance of inventory, receipt, shipment of goods, telephone encounters and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately prepare orders by pulling material from stock.
Participate in the shipping of company goods to various customers.
Verify accuracy of shipments.
Process paperwork and signatures of shipments.
Operate forklift, and tasks assigned in a safe and efficient manner.
Pull orders via pick ticket and handle pick ticket process.
Load and unload delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and preparing for transport.
Participate in physical inventory for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying gains/losses.
Clean warehouse for the purpose of safe and sanitary workplace.
Accurately perform order entry process, to include product, quantity and price verification.
Confirm orders placed by customers via phone/fax/internet.
Perform stock and price checks for customers and other branches.
Provide freight/shipment information (cost/tracking/etc) to customers/branches in a timely and accurate manner.
Apply freight and handling expenses to orders so as to be able to effectively invoice customers for related expenses.
Regularly follow up with customers as to the status of their order(s).
Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least two years of inventory handling and experience.
Ability to perform and understand basic math and written procedures.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to meet deadlines and schedules with little supervision.
Forklift experience is a plus.
Warehouse experience is a plus.
Flooring or tile industry experience is a plus.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
