Equipment Technician
Job Summary: We are currently seeking an experienced
Equipment Technician
to join our Wafer Fabrication team at Solid State Devices, Inc. This is a technical maintenance role in a manufacturing environment where equipment reliability and cleanroom or ESD protocols are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix mechanical, electrical, or control system issues on production tools and equipment.
Minimize downtime, interpret error codes, and replace worn components.
Install or swap out interface hardware, which could be part of automated testers or production jigs, test setups, wiring, or fixture alignment.
Ensure all stations are ESD‑compliant, using ESD testers and documenting results.
Familiar with ESD wrist strap checkers, grounding points, and ISO/ANSI ESD standards.
Track, organize, and possibly tag equipment.
Coordinate with external contacts for parts, service, or technical support.
Proactively maintain equipment based on schedules, logs, or usage data to avoid breakdowns.
Cover infrastructure systems – HVAC, DI water, compressed air, vacuums, etc.
Work on facility support systems or coordinate with building maintenance teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Able to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams
Understand how production machinery operates and are familiar with automation or control systems
Experience working with industrial furnaces – possibly in heat treatment, semiconductor, or ceramics manufacturing
Familiar with systems that produce ultra‑pure water, often used in semiconductor processes
Knowledge of water quality standards (e.g., resistivity), filters, or maintenance protocols
Preventive maintenance, leak detection, or rebuild experience
Experience setting up or calibrating temperature control systems
Understand how temperature regulation works – possibly with PID controllers, thermocouples, RTDs, etc.
Familiar with Heating Control Systems
Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree (preferred) – Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a related technical or equipment maintenance field. Related work experience or hands‑on training or certifications (e.g., IPC, OSHA, ESD, etc.)
Schedule Full-time / Monday - Friday / 6:00am-2:30pm
Salary $25.00 - $30.00 per hour / Bi-Weekly Pay Schedule (Direct Deposit)
