• Your work will include performing survey work on complex construction projects, supervising survey crews and lower-level technicians, making independent decisions, and communicating effectively with co-workers, contractor's personnel, and the general public.

• You will be responsible for reviewing the contractor’s survey submittals and providing checks of their construction layouts in the field.

• You must have the ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.

• In this position you will be exposed to outside environmental hazards, confined areas, and may be required to work at night and on weekends. Safety Toe Shoes required.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****Salary Grade: NC14

Salary Range: $50,633 - $88,607****Management prefers applicants with the following:*** Experience using surveying equipment, instruments, levels, data collectors and GPS equipment* Experience with mathematical functions including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry* Experience performing highway construction stakeouts* Experience conducting independent, moderately complex surveying* Computer experience including office software and drafting softwareAdditional Expectations:Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and specification/inspection procedures.
