What You’ll Do
Promote safety in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, prioritizing safety throughout the operation.
Repair and maintain plant equipment, performing repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
Inspect equipment and structures, performing daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions.
Monitor processes and materials, monitoring and reviewing the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance.
Document and record information, entering and maintaining service and lubrication reports for the plant equipment used to ensure up-to-date preventative maintenance.
Perform general physical activities, assisting with operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need
Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production.
Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and extended hours as needed, work outside in all weather conditions, and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
Mechanical skills: Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
