Overview
The Construction Manager (Tool Install) is responsible for the execution of the construction phase of a project. Responsible for ensuring site safety is maintained according to the safety plan, maintaining the daily progress goals, ensuring installation quality is monitored during the entire construction period, and communicating to Project Managers. The Senior Construction Manager must be ready to take on unique challenges daily, with the responsibility of keeping a project on schedule and on budget. Acts as the Company’s representative when dealing with vendors, subcontractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Champions Safety, Quality, Regulatory Compliance and The Collaborative Way
Communicate and uphold safety culture and safety policies and procedures throughout the project
Assists Pre-construction with estimating and pre-construction services and other duties as assigned by the Procurement and Construction Directors
Work with Procurement in scope of work development and the solicitation and pre-qualification of Subcontractors and Suppliers. Responsible for all technical evaluations of bid proposals and overall scope ownership
Prepare and manage construction schedule and daily planning of work
Be intimately familiar with Subcontractor scope of work, Subcontract agreements, and design drawings, for the ownership of construction execution on time and within budget
Responsible for subcontract pay applications reviews and approvals
Coordinate with Quality Control and Document Control to ensure the timely review and processing of shop drawings and required submittals
Coordinate submittals and RFIs with Field Engineer or responsible design professionals
Coordinate, communicate, and document changes in scope of work. Capture and communicate any schedule, quality, or cost associated with changes
Coordinate with the Superintendents and Quality Control all required testing and documentation is planned and completed correctly
Ensure Quality is upheld daily and punch lists are generated and completed in a timely manner
Develop and maintain continuous positive relationships with the Client and their representatives
Monitor the training of all Construction staff
Promote positive staff morale, professionalism and attitude, and assist to resolve potential deficiencies when identified
Participate in continuous improvement plans as directed and/or through proactive application of personal expertise
Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the company’s project processes, procedures, and policies and enforce the use and conformance thereof
Ensure that Project Controls are maintaining the Contract Documents up-to-date, with all revised drawings, addenda, and Change Orders
Ensure all project closeout documentation, including project as-builts are continuously maintained
Assist in preparation of all project status reports

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
OSHA 10 required / OSHA 30 preferred
5+ years as a Project Manager or 15+ years of construction operations experience
Management experience within the construction industry
Project Management experience
Proven leadership skills working across multiple disciplines / departments
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organization and coordination skills
Must be able to communicate technical material to other technical stakeholders and to a non-technical audience
Working knowledge of: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Adobe Writer, BIM software navigation
Primavera, Microsoft Project, Visio and basic
