Position Overview Provides direct patient care to medical/surgical/cardiovascular patients needing advanced monitoring. Requires operating advanced medical equipment, including central lines, A-lines, multiple IVs, balloon pumps, Impella pumps, ventilation support or Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. Also cares for general medical and surgical patients on the inpatient unit. Assesses and implements established policies with minimal supervision, acts as clinical leader, assists with precepting staff. Provides direct care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning. Gives direction to RN, LPN, CNA, housekeeping, dietary staff, and receives direction from providers, charge nurse, supervisor, or chief nursing officer.
Schedule: 3x12’s and nights (7pm‑7:30am)
Education
Graduate of an accredited RN Degree Nursing Program, required.
Experience
Practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care Nursing including cardiovascular surgery, required.
Impella and/or other cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT experience, preferred.
1–2 years of Cardiac Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
Current State of Montana RN Licensure.
BLS, ACLS required.
Complete PALS courses within 6 months of hire and renewal as required.
EPNC, TNCC certification preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Advanced Nursing Principles and Procedures.
Use of basic office equipment.
Use of multiple IV pumps.
Ability to operate advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, invasive lines, cardiac balloon pumps, chest tubes.
Patients requiring ventilatory support and those on CRRT.
Pre-employment Screening
Criminal background check.
Drug screening.
Health and immunization screening.
