Job Title: Shipfitter/Stick Welder - Newport News, VA
$45/hour & $140 per diem
This position is located in Newport News, Virginia!!
Responsibilities:
Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen/propane burning torches.
Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.
Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
Utilize vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.
Essential Skills:
Single & Multi Pass Tack Welding
Burning using Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch
Heating using Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
Ability to read and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches
Ability to comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler
Ability to lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
