Job Description
As a CNC Machine operator, you will reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
Position workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
Pushes buttons or depress pedal to activate machine.
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece with a powered hand tools.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces. Perform minor program changes , properly save and check them.
Machine operators are to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.
Rivets and/or spot welds workpieces.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED.
1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the job.
Must have good listening and communication skills.
Able to work well with others to be a good team player.
What will your typical day look like?
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Secures materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information containers.
Makes simple adjustments and performs routine preventive maintenance.
Assembles crates or boxes to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
Cleans work area, spills, and equipment as required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Other duties may be assigned.
The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $22.00 - $24.50 an hour.
The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
