Position Overview:
The operator will perform construction and maintenance work in gas distribution, underground utilities, and gas service lines, working with the public and operating equipment such as backhoe, excavator, vibratory or static plows, trenchers, directional bore machines for installation, removal, or maintenance of underground utilities and pipe.
Essential Functions
Skilled worker possessing the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry.
Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job and work within a short time frame as needed.
Make contacts with customers and the public.
Work well with others.
Follow safety policies and procedures per DC, LLC standards and the utility customer.
Load material or equipment for transport from the yard to the job site and secure as appropriate.
Place, remove, or maintain underground utilities: carrying pipe, bags of material, jackhammering, shoveling, tamping, installing pipe, duct or cable.
Secure work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and equipment safety.
Qualifications
Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
Required: 3 years prior operating experience.
Required: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to obtain a CDL.
Strong work ethic; willing to work in a team environment.
