Work Description

Perform a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols.

Prepare specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures.

Operate automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

Perform quality control and assurance procedures.

Record lab results in the specified system.

Follow all required HIPAA privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Education : Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).

Experience : One to two years experience working in an accredited laboratory preferred.

Licenses/Certificates : Certification as a laboratory professional by ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW required.
