Position Overview The Patient Care Manager (PCM) facilitates teamwork and unit pride by advocating for an environment that promotes high patient care standards and implements strategies to ensure patient and physician satisfaction. The PCM is a registered professional nurse responsible for 24‑hour leadership of specific nursing unit(s) within the Department of Nursing, working cooperatively with the Nurse Management Team and other disciplines under the direction of the Department Director.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 24‑hour leadership and management of assigned nursing unit(s).

Collaborate with Nurse Management Team to develop and implement unit plans.

Ensure compliance with state regulations and hospital policies.

Promote innovation and excellence in clinical, service, and team performance.

Support work‑house supervisor shifts as needed.

Qualifications

Graduate from a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited School of Nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.

Must hold BCLS certification upon hire; maintain de‑escalation training within 90 days.

Three (3) years of progressive professional nursing experience in an acute care hospital required; management experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Active work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects.

Repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.

Ability to perceive sound within normal speaking levels.

Close visual acuity for focus on computer monitors and printed materials.

Must work flexible hours and be willing to travel within the SRHS service area.

Special Demands

Proficiency with computer applications: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Independent work with little supervision; ability to seek guidance as needed.

Understanding of basic business skills and general financial operations.

Travel required throughout SRHS service area; own transportation.
