Academic Requirements Required:

Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services, or social services field;

Preferred:

Graduate degree from an accredited program/university in a related field.

Certifications

First aid

CPR

Emergency behavior intervention

Work Experience

Required:

1 year related experience and/or training, including experience working in crisis intervention.

Preferred:

Experience working in child welfare, case management, and with immigrant populations (highly encouraged).

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables

Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.

Maintain a caseload in accordance with agency policies, licensing, and contract standards.

Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs, and other activities that promote professional growth and development.

Maintain a minimum number of weekly contacts with children and families.

Continuously assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances, or conditions that may affect child safety.

Provide feedback and support to crisis line staff to ensure appropriate responses to crisis calls and follow‑ups as needed.

Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the casework process.

Document progress that children and families make toward risk reduction, achievement of service goals, and positive case outcomes.

Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing, and/or contract requirements.

Participate in weekly case staffing with case managers, case aides, and contracted staff in the assigned region.

Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by the position supervisor.

Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuation with children and staff in case of an emergency.

Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.

Maintain Compass Connections’ professional and ethical standards of conduct, including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members, and complying with the required dress code at all times.

Other Responsibilities

Coordinate referrals, service planning, and documentation of services for assigned caseload.

Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal providers and immigration court.

Accept crisis calls and provide support to families in crisis.

Participate in weekly face‑to‑face or phone supervision with the supervisor.

Frequently travel from one location to another within the office.

Meet all deadlines required by the program supervisor and federal partners.

Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents for Foster Care Programs.

Requirements

Pass a pre‑employment drug screen and random drug screens during employment.

Provide proof of work‑eligibility status upon request.

Pass a pre‑employment and biennial criminal background checks.

Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio‑economic characteristics.

Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, and professionals.

Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.

Work in a fast‑paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.

Maintain required computer literacy.

Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
