The NDE Level II Technician independently performs NDT inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with written criteria.
Position Summary
The NDE Level II Technician independently performs nondestructive testing inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with written criteria. The role includes conducting inspections, interpreting indications, documenting and reporting results per company requirements, and effectively communicating processes, procedures, and outcomes to customers.

Assists the Senior Technician and instructs apprentice-level personnel on the job
Studies to gain NDT certifications while assisting to gain hands‑on experience in various NDT methods
Performs any duties assigned by the Senior Technician on the job
Performs supervisory activities over apprentice-level personnel as needed
Maintains NDT certification
Performs NDT inspections for which certified
Interprets and reports inspection results and maintains documentation of inspection activities
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Understanding of basic math
Ability to work in Microsoft Word
Ability to work with computers and computerized equipment
Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least two methods
Previous Level II certification in a minimum of one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred
Travel requirement of 0–75%
Ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner
Ability to follow instructions
Work Conditions
Position is based out of a branch or site location
Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere
Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel
Work performed in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
Must be able to wear required safety equipment for personal protection
May be at more than one job site in a day and tolerate climate changes
May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Ability to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties
Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively
Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform inspections
Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties
Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform office duties and travel to off‑site locations
Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within refinery or plant environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
