Recovery Support Specialist
ACTS is growing! We are seeking a compassionate, driven individual to join us in making a lasting impact through meaningful work on the Wraparound Housing Team.
Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm
Salary Range $16.00-$17.75/hr.
Location On-Site at our Wraparound Housing Program in Tampa, Florida.

Voluntary Life Insurance and other supplemental policy offerings on the first day of the month following 60 days of full-time employment. 403(B) retirement account with up to 5% company match. 10 company paid holidays and 11 days paid time off per year.
Responsibilities
Adhere to agency designated model for treating persons with substance and/or co-occurring mental disorders.
Promote client self-determination, personal responsibility and empowerment inherent in self-directed recovery.
Facilitate and teach clients role recovery elements such as engagement in the recovery process, developing readiness for work or meaningful life activities, choosing valued roles, and achieving these roles in the community.
Conduct psycho-educational groups; assist clients in peer group support to facilitate problem solving, communication skills development, and personal growth.
Support in achieving recovery goals as reflected in the client's screening, assessment, treatment plan or discharge summary.
Provide services within areas of competency, i.e., life experience, training, certification, education, or other background in the service area.
Seek direction from Program Director/Administrator when clients' needs fall outside areas of competency and maintain up-to-date knowledge and written materials of community resources and recovery philosophy.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school and three years of direct service experience in a substance abuse or mental health treatment or recovery setting. (Personal recovery experience will be considered on a year for year basis for up to two years of the required experience) OR
A Bachelor's degree in a health or human services field may substitute for two years of the experience.
Valid Florida Driver License.
Ability to pass Federal, State, Local Law and Level 2 background clearances.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to participate in crisis intervention and CPR/First Aid training and apply learned techniques, as needed.
