Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens
Base pay range: $17.94/hr – $20.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
Share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Recommend items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items.
Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges, and take customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, and checking for interactions.
Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to company policies and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.
Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist the Pharmacy Department with inventory management and warehouse activities.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise.
Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies.
Maintain a working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport, poster print, and creative machine services.
Assume web pick‑up responsibilities by monitoring orders in Picture Care Plus, picking items, and delivering orders to customers.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store appearance.
Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete special assignments.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification or registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate, and acquire continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
