Job Summary In a collaborative manner, the Medical Assistant will provide support to the Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologist, and patients through a variety of tasks, including but not limited to patient care management, organization, and communication. The Medical Assistant completes all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner while living our vision and mission to become the urgent care partner of choice by re‑defining value and access to quality care.

Job Requirements

Education

High School Diploma required

Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program required

Work Experience

Medical Assistant experience preferred

Front Desk experience preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)).

One of the following certifications is required at the time of hire:

CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)

CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)

RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)

NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)

NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAPH)

Alternatives to MA Certification

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RN

EMT – Emergency Medical Technician (National Registry of EMT)

CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures

Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Essential Functions

Conduct patient registration, including securing paperwork, verifying insurance, and checking eligibility.

Process co‑pays and schedule patient appointments for the assigned center.

Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.

Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of status.

Inform technical staff of patient flow.

Prepare patients for examination (interviews, medical history, verify purpose of visit).

Perform preliminary physical tests for vital signs and alert provider as needed.

Conduct point‑of‑care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide results to provider.

Maintain supplies and equipment for exam rooms, front desk, and reception area.

Complete order sheets to sustain supply inventory; check expiration dates.

Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.

Answer phone calls and manage daily postal correspondence.

Ensure reception is well maintained.

Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.

Perform opening and closing duties (cash out, end‑of‑day communication, secure building).

Follow operating instructions for daily controls, calibration, QA/QC logs, maintenance, repair tickets.

All other duties as assigned.
