Infection Prevention Professional Full-Time | Exempt | Day Shift
Cross Country is actively seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Professional to join our Quality & Patient Safety team. This is a high-impact role supporting regulatory readiness, infection surveillance, and interdisciplinary collaboration across the organization.
Compensation:
Comprehensive benefits available upon permanent hire
Professional growth and leadership exposure
40 hours per week
Monday–Friday, day shift
Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible)
No routine on-call
(Occasional availability during outbreaks or urgent needs may be required)
About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing infection prevention practices throughout the hospital and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, NHSN, and state reporting requirements. The Infection Prevention Professional will work closely with physicians, nursing leaders, quality teams, and environmental services.
We are seeking someone who can hit the ground running, confidently engage clinical teams, and help drive best practices in patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
Track and report data via NHSN and state systems
Lead infection prevention rounds and audits
Investigate and manage outbreaks
Develop and maintain infection prevention policies
Chair and facilitate the Infection Control Committee
Support antimicrobial stewardship initiativesParticipate in construction and life safety risk assessments
Prepare regulatory and quality reports
Collaborate with nursing leadership and physicians
Maintain the annual Infection Prevention Plan

Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
Experience Minimum 2–3 years of Infection Prevention experience
Certification
CIC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control) preferred
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
