Join the Civmec Team After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking experienced Electrical Trade Assistants on a casual basis. These positions will commence in mid-January 2026 and run through until the end of the year. The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 7 shutdowns over a period of 12 months performing upgrades on the clients’ balance machines (2x Reclaimers, 2x Stackers and 2x Shiploaders).
Shutdown dates for 2026:
31/01 – 25/02
16/03 – 07/04
25/04 – 17/05
01/06 – 22/06
21/07 – 11/08
24/08 – 21/09
19/10 – 16/11
The Role
Perform spotting duties as required
Operate a variety of tools and machines including forklifts, EWP’s, grinders, power drills or other cutting and shaping tools and machines
Assist with Cable Pulling and working closely with the Electrical personnel on site
Assisting with the install of Cable Trays
Transport tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches
Loading and delivering project materials
Follow quality control systems and techniques
Perform other general duties as required
About You
Minimum 1-year industrial experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant
Construction White Card
Work Safely at Heights (within 2 years of issue)
MSIC, or the ability to obtain
First Aid
CPR
Current Low Voltage Rescue Certificate
Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and regular / random Drug and Alcohol screens
Additional Tickets will be highly regarded
