Responsibilities
Plan, develop and deliver engaging English language instruction tailored to students' language proficiency levels.
Develop and implement lessons that integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds of students.
Assess student progress using formal and informal assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators and parents to support student growth and language development.
Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that encourages risk-taking in language learning.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance and progress reports.
Stay current with best practices in ESL education and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics or a related field required.
Master's degree in TESOL or Education preferred.
Valid California Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization (CLAD TESOL or equivalent) required.
Previous experience teaching English Language Learners in a school setting preferred.
Strong communication, cultural competency and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for language instruction.
