Position Overview The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor for English for the Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 semesters. Adjunct faculty plan, implement, and evaluate teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes, and partake in the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.

The successful applicant will provide instruction in entry‑level English courses, including Developmental Writing, College Writing I and II, Technical Writing, and World Literature.

Adjunct instructors may be required to use certain texts, meet departmental parameters, and include specific student assessment measures. All required documents must be received before your application may be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric, or Composition with outstanding teaching experience in lower‑level English courses.

Ph.D. in English or Rhetoric, including 18 graduate hours in Rhetoric or Composition.

Excellent communication skills in various settings.

Experience developing and teaching in‑person, hybrid, and online courses, preferably on Canvas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Adjunct faculty members may be required to use certain texts, meet departmental parameters, and include specific student assessment measures.

Job Duties Instruction in entry‑level English courses; development and maintenance of course materials; implementation of learning objectives; assessment of student performance; participation in departmental meetings; collaboration with colleagues.

Work Schedule As required to meet the academic schedule.
