Urban Studies - 2025-26 Professional Track Faculty Pool
The Department of American Studies seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non‑tenured positions to teach Urban Studies undergraduate courses. Positions are not available every semester and are contingent upon student enrollment and the availability of funding. Appointments are usually made on a semester‑by‑semester basis, though sometimes there is departmental need for an annual appointment. Positions are renewable annually, contingent upon budgetary funding and performance. Qualifications
A graduate degree in a field relevant to urban planning, urban development, urban social research, community planning, or regional planning is required. Teaching experience is required. Demonstrated teaching excellence, experience with instructional design, and experience working in or with public, private, and non‑profit organizations in Austin, Texas are preferred.
