Laborup
We’re hiring experienced Process Technicians to support a high-speed, continuous manufacturing operation producing engineered polymer-based materials. This is a hands-on role focused on process control, equipment optimization, quality assurance, and troubleshooting within a thermally driven production environment.
You’ll work on a complex production line that involves polymer handling, heating, extrusion, cooling, bonding, and roll-based material processing , where small adjustments can have a major impact on product quality, efficiency, and uptime. This role sits at the intersection of operations, maintenance, and process improvement , making it ideal for technicians who like to understand why a process behaves the way it does — not just how to run it.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, process-minded technicians with experience in plastics, extrusion, injection molding, blown film, textiles, or other continuous manufacturing environments .
Compensation
$23- $31/hr
Shifts
Days and nights available
Fixed 2-2-3 schedule
Days: 7:00am - 7:00pm
Nights: 7:00pm - 7:00am
Responsibilities include:
Process Operation & Adjustment – Operate, set up, and fine-tune continuous production equipment involving polymer heating, forming, cooling, and bonding to maintain stable, repeatable output.
Process Monitoring & Control – Monitor temperatures, pressures, speeds, and material behavior; identify abnormal conditions and take corrective action before quality or throughput are impacted.
Advanced Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues; distinguish between equipment failures and process-driven defects.
Preventive Maintenance & Calibration – Perform routine inspections, adjustments, minor repairs, and calibration activities to minimize downtime and ensure consistent operation.
Quality Assurance & Documentation – Perform in-process quality checks, verify conformance to specifications, document results, and support traceability and compliance requirements.
Data Analysis & Process Optimization – Enter production data, analyze trends, and recommend parameter changes or process improvements to improve yield, reduce waste, and stabilize output.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to implement long-term corrective actions for recurring issues.
Continuous Improvement Support – Participate in waste reduction, efficiency improvements, standard work development, and process standardization efforts.
Operator Training & Support – Train and mentor operators on proper equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, quality checks, and safe work practices.
Safety, 5S & Compliance – Maintain clean and organized work areas, follow SOPs and safety protocols, and support a strong safety culture in a high-temperature, industrial environment.
Qualifications
Experience – 5+ years in a manufacturing environment as a process technician, lead operator, or senior machine operator.
Process Aptitude – Strong understanding of thermally driven or continuous processes involving heating, cooling, material flow, and bonding.
Mechanical Skills– Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues, make adjustments, and support minor repairs or component replacements.
Problem Solving – Proven ability to identify root causes, analyze data, and make sound decisions under production conditions.
Attention to Detail – Strong quality mindset with the ability to maintain tight tolerances and consistent output.
Schedule Flexibility– Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Pre-Employment Requirements – Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Preferred
Education – Associate degree, technical certification, or trade school training in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field.
Industry Background – Experience in plastics, extrusion, injection molding, blown film, textiles, fibers, or other continuous-process manufacturing.
Process Improvement Exposure – Familiarity with continuous improvement, waste reduction, SPC, or standardized work practices.
Training & Leadership – Prior experience mentoring operators or supporting skill development on the production floor.
