Role Specifics and Benefits In PCU, you’ll care for patients transitioning from critical to recovery-focused care, often with telemetry monitoring, complex medication regimens, and evolving respiratory or hemodynamic needs. Core responsibilities include accurate patient assessments, continuous monitoring of vitals and telemetry, timely administration of medications, IV therapy management, and collaboration with physicians, charge nurses, case managers, and therapists to coordinate care plans. You’ll participate in daily rounds, implement Evidence-Based Practice, and educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning. The role also emphasizes safety, infection control, documentation integrity, and adherence to unit protocols.
