Job Title Graduate Electrical Engineer

Job Location 52 Farmview Drive, New Gloucester, ME 04260

Primary Function As a member of a project team, the Graduate Electrical Engineer will perform engineering and design duties for transmission line or substation design, which require application of engineering principles. Assignments are closely supervised and are designed to further develop an employee’s job knowledge and abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work with a project team to create or modify all civil and structural design documents and drawings for a project, under direct supervision.

Perform engineering support tasks such as wind load calculations and structural analysis, with minimal supervision.

Learn and apply engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI.

Learn and properly use the document management system.

Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.

Spend time at job sites to gain hands‑on knowledge and additional training in substation construction and design.

Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.

Bring potential project‑related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.

Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.

Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university is required, a power focus is preferred. Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain EIT certificate within one year of date of hire is required. Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field is preferred.

Skills Required

Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals

Basic knowledge of three-phase power systems

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills

Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written

Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e‑mail software

Physical Requirements

This position requires minimal physical effort.

Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year‑around weather conditions and noise.

Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%).

Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.

May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.

Compensation $80,000 - $180,000 yearly. The compensation range for this position is compliant with all local and state regulations and is based on several factors such as work experience, education, qualifications, and internal and external market factors. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and discretionary bonus.
