Description

Wheeler Machinery in Salt Lake City is seeking to hire a full-time Power Systems Field Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on generators and industrial power equipment, including load bank testing and minor repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on Caterpillar and non-Cat generators

Perform PM Services on diesel and natural gas engines of all makes and models.

Operate and maintain a commercial vehicle in accordance with company policies and DOT guidelines.

Perform electrical 120V to 480V load bank testing

Willing to complete all job tasks assigned by supervisor, and management

Perform minor troubleshooting and repair of engines and generators

Will perform minor AC electrical repairs

Must be able to work within given flat rate times

Qualifications

Safety First, must have a good safety record. “Safety” will be this role’s top priority.

Must have an excellent driving record and have or be able to acquire a CDL

Be self-motivated, have good organizational skills, and exceptional work ethic

Must be very personable and have excellent customer service skills

Professional attitude and appearance

Diesel and gas engine experience

Follows detailed instructions and accomplish work with minimum supervision

Must complete paperwork in a timely manner, and have good computer skills

Coordinate parts orders, warranty information, service reports, and documentation required to complete repair

Must have a teamwork attitude working closely with all departments and supervisors

Works in high pressure situations while maintaining a professional attitude

Must be punctual and willing to work long hours, including weekends and nights as needed

Willing to attend various training classes to expand knowledge

Must be able to work overtime as required.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
