St. Charles Automotive Parts Driver
Position Summary The Parts Driver plays a critical role in the efficient movement of parts, both within our facilities and to external shops & vendors. This position ensures timely delivery and receipt of parts, supports repair schedules, and contributes to overall inventory accuracy and workplace organization. This position requires strong communication among parts, service, and customers. Additionally, this role requires attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining the flow of parts and supplies essential to daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure road-worthiness, safety compliance, and proper maintenance; report any issues promptly to the supervisor.
Pick up and deliver parts to and from vendors, suppliers, and shops.
Load and unload trucks, verifying quantities and checking for damage or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate delivery and receiving records and shipping paperwork.
Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and restocking materials, as needed.
Ensure safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles.
Demonstrate safe driving practices, follow company safety protocols and traffic laws while driving.
Sweep floors, empty trash cans, and dump metal scrap bins as part of daily housekeeping.
Assist Shipping and Receiving, and other departments, as needed.
Work overtime as needed.
Required Experience and Skills
High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Must have a Class E license (also referred to as a Chauffeur's license) and clean driving record to operate company vehicles, or willing to obtain upon hire.
Ability to multitask in job duties with strong time management skills.
Highly Motivated and strong work ethic.
Basic computer data entry skills.
Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
Ability to ascend/descend on steps and ladders.
Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
