Job Title: Retail Maintenance I
Grade: 4 & 5
FLSA Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt
Department: Retail West
Reports to: Warehouse / Operations or Location Manager
Summary/Objective Responsible for managing the daily operations of mechanical and some electrical elements of their locations equipment to assume maximum utilization and efficiency of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, safety, and organization guidelines.
Essential Functions
Keeps daily, weekly and monthly service checklist on the warehouse and storage facility within all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and GreenPoint Ag EHS guidelines
Monitors, repairs, maintains service on all equipment to include, but not limited to, the following:
Elevators
Blenders
Tender Trailers
Loaders
All shop equipment
All electrical components, as well as mechanical components
Present a positive, professional image of GreenPoint Ag, its products and its programs
Level I
Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
Requires a high school diploma or GED; welding certificate and other similar mechanical certifications preferred.
Typically reports to supervisor or manager; works under moderate supervision.
Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline including metal work.
One plus year of related experience (including small engine experience and plumbing) or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
Level II
Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
Troubleshoots and diagnoses the more complex equipment problems.
Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
Oversee and review the work of other employees brought in to assist.
Requires a high school diploma or GED; welding certificate and other similar mechanical certifications preferred.
Typically reports to supervisor or manager; works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job including metal work.
Three plus years of related experience or may need 2 years’ experience (including small engine experience and plumbing) with additional specialized training and/or certification.
Required Qualifications
2 or 3 + years of mechanical experience (depends on level), preferably with small motor experience and some electrical
High School graduate or GED, may be offset by experience
Associate’s degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent working knowledge of general maintenance
Some experience in electrical maintenance and repair
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as well as communicate well with all staff and management
Ability to read, count, and write accurately complete all documentation
Ability to ensure parts are available when needed
Accountability and care for necessary tools provided
Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
Always maintain professionalism
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in both indoor and outside work environments. Employees will be routinely exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures associated with working in outdoor and warehouse environments. The employee will also be exposed to agricultural and industrial environments that may require the use of PPE.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and listen. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. The employee is also regularly required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Travel Minimal travel required.
